Gulp! Wonder when he will upset enough average people for a "revolution" (of a wheel?).

First--ABC is selling out and should be ashamed itself for allowing its news correspondents to promote the White House Health Care program without airing any opposing coverage. It's poor journalism. President Obama should have paid for air time and had his own media team prepare a video...not allow journalists the oppotunity to sell out--although I can see why since the vast majority of American culture doesn't want to hear "objective" reporting...they want to be told what to think and have everything spoonfed to them.

One of the hard things for me in the election was the idea of who had a better health care platform. Let's face it--the American health care system is no longer about getting people well, it's about making money. The fact that there are people (with jobs) who have to decide whether to stay sick so they can pay the bills or get better and fall into debt is morally wrong. The fact that insurance companies make billions by telling people that they are not covered is morally wrong. And many of our corporations would be more competitive in a global market if they did not have to deal with the expensive burden of providing health care.

But I don't think that a total national health care plan is the answer. . . there are too many flaws (long waits, problems with quality coverage). I think discussing it is a good start but now the President and the American people need to get into a dialogue to see what works, what doesn't and come up with a middle ground between the mess we have now and what President Obama has proposed. That's why ABC would have been smart to air a town-hall type of thing where different experts from various spectrums could have spoken.

As for the whole idea of socialism...the truth is that a Christian society, if it were to be acting ideally under what the Bible sets, would look very socialist and leftist. Capitalism is not a Biblical concept, although it's not a sinful one. Socialism unforunately leads to the idols of secularism and capitalism left unchecked leads to untethered greed. Both are dangerous if not pursued rightly.
